I, me, mine 🙂
My name is Sofia, I am 24 years old, I was born in Ferrara: a small city in the north-east of Italy. I have lived all my life in close contact with food, helping my granny making gnocchi, lasagne, bolognese sauce..mmm 🙂 ! She is my anchor, I feel lucky to have had the chance to absorb her knowledge which I would like to share with you. Apart from her, I have had two other important teachers: my mum and my sister, who is like a second mum to me.
I like simple things, basic, which work. I believe that by following a few basic rules, it is possible to cook very well, and having fun too! It is therapeutic (sometimes cooking is the only thing I can do to blow off steam 🙂 ) and satisfying: you can make a good impression with your friends and, let’s say that, eating is one of life’s pleasure!
My priority is to share with you what I learn, being as much clear and simple as possible. I take it also as a way to self-improving, I like to read a lot of cookery books and select what I believe is worth doing, so sometimes the recipes are not mine, sometimes they are.
I am passionate about illustration too, since I was a child I’ve always had some coloured pencils around me and I feel like it’s my main way of communication. For these reasons, illustrating recipes represents for me the highest peak of joy, I can totally express myself and combine what I love most.
At the moment, I live in Brighton: a marvelous city in the south-east of England, you cannot imagine how much variety there is, also from the culinary point of view: lots and lots of restaurants of different cultures, amazing! This change has inspire and motivate me so much that I decided to start writing this blog, which is essentially me.
If you have any question, do not hesitate to write me!
Now, let’s start cooking with me
